SimplePets R5-B315

Overview

SimplePets started out as an Easy-To-Use replacement for EchoPets (Which at the time of its first development was still supported)

Now 10+ years later it is called one of the best EchoPets replacements by quite a few users that have used EchoPets in the past

These days SimplePets is mostly used as a cosmetic plugin, Most servers hand the pets out as a reward for their players to either flex with or to mess around with in their hubs.

Requirements

As of Aug. 27th, 2026 (R5-B311)

The requirements for SimplePets are:

1. Must have at least Spigot 1.21.8 (or any of its forks)
2. Depending on what version of minecraft you are using will affect what java version you need
   
   
   1. MC 26.2 - Requires Java 25 (Latest)
   2. MC 26.1 - Requires Java 25
   3. MC 1.21.11 - Requires Java 21
   4. MC 1.21.10 - Requires Java 21
   5. MC 1.21.8 - Requires Java 21 (Minimum supported version)
   
   

[SPOILER="How patch versions are supported (26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2.1, etc.)"]Minecraft patch releases (Eg: 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2.1) usually do not change anything the plugin needs, so they do NOT require their own build of SimplePets.

When the plugin starts up it will:
1) Look for support that matches your exact server version
2) If there is none, it will link to the newest support that shares the same major/minor version and is not newer than your server
3) You will see a message in the console letting you know your version was linked

1. 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2 will all use the 26.1 support
2. 26.2 and 26.2.1 will both use the 26.2 support

If a patch release DOES break something, dedicated support for that exact patch version is added and the plugin will automatically pick it over the linked one.

How to Install


1) Download the Plugin
2) Open your servers plugins folder
3) Drop the plugin jar into the folder
4) RESTART your server
5) Modify the config files
6) RESTART your server to finalize the values

Pet Selection

A nice clean GUI that can be used to spawn the pets you would like. The GUI also has items that allow you to Ride your pet, Manage Pet Saves, Rename Pets, And finally put your pet on your head



Pet Customization

All pets have data that can be customized, The 'Pet Data Changer' GUI allows the players to easily modify their pets looks/data to what they want



Plugin Addons

Thanks to the v5 code base The plugin now can easily link into other plugins via Addons

These Addons can be installed manually via FTP Or they can be installed IN-GAME via '/pet addon'

1. Vault - Pets can be purchased via in-game currency
2. PlayerPoints - Pets can be purchased with PlayerPoints
3. TokenManager - Pets can be purchased with tokens
4. GemsEconomy - Pets can be purchased with gems
5. Treasury - Pets can be purchased via in-game currency
6. ItemEconomy - Pets can be purchased with in-game items

Keep the pets where they belong

1. WorldGuard - Stop specific pet events inside regions
2. GriefPrevention - Stop specific pet events on or off of claimed land
3. PlotSquared - Allow/deny pet events on parts of a plot world (road/unclaimed/denied)
4. Residence - Stop specific pet events in selected areas
5. RedProtect - Adds pet flags (pet-spawning, pet-moving, pet-riding, & pet-mounting)
6. WorldBorder - Stop specific pet events from happening outside of borders
7. WorldRestriction - Restricts certain tasks from happening in certain worlds

Extras

1. PetWeight - Pets have actual weight and slow the player down while on their head (It stacks with more pets)
2. PvP - Removes the players pets when they are in combat
3. Vanish - Pets vanish when the player is vanished with Super/Premium Vanish
4. PermissionLore - Adds a lore to the pet items if they do/don't have permission for the pet
