WHAT IS FEATHEREDELECTION?

Players elect a mayor. The winner's perks apply to everyone until the next election — extra crops, cheaper trades, a district where ore smelts itself — and then voting opens again, on its own, forever.

FEATURES

  • A cycle that runs itself — Voting, results, the mayor's term and a cooldown. When the last phase ends a new election is created, with a new ballot, forever.
  • Perks you write — 49 effects, 23 conditions, 6 filters and 28 triggers, combined in YAML. Extra drops, auto-smelting, potion effects, money, commands, schematics and everything in between.
  • NPC candidates — Citizens, FancyNpcs or ModeledNPCS. Players walk up to a candidate, read its perks on a hologram and click to vote.
  • Player elections — Players pick their own campaign promises and get on the ballot through the support of others. Each cycle is either your mayors or theirs.
  • Reputation — Thumbs up or down with a written comment, configurable levels and a leaderboard, so voters can judge a candidate they have never played with.
  • Vote weight — A rank can make a vote worth five. The highest permission wins, capped by a value you set.
  • Vote rewards — Console commands for everyone who votes, and again for whoever backed the winner. Pay in money, crate keys, temporary permissions or anything else.
  • Election history — Every past term keeps its winner, the full vote split and the perks that were in force. Players go back and check.
  • Loop or calendar — Phase durations that repeat forever, or fixed real dates when elections have to line up with your server's events.
  • Networks — SQLite for a single server, MySQL for a whole network, Redis, or MySQL behind Redis. Share elections, votes, reputation and history across servers.
  • Fully configurable — Twelve menus, every message, every hologram line, the reputation levels and the rewards are all files you own.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • 1. Candidates go up — Each election draws its ballot from your mayors folder, or from the players with the most support. Up to five names, picked fresh every time.
  • 2. The server votes — With a command or a click on a candidate NPC. One vote each, weighted by rank, counted live and saved the moment it is cast.
  • 3. The winner rules — Their perks apply to every player for the whole term. When it ends, marks and districts are wiped and the seat opens again.

COMPATIBILITY

  • Server — Paper or Spigot. Paper is recommended.
  • Minecraft — 1.20.1 up to the latest 1.21.x, and 26.1 / 26.2. One jar for all of them, with no version-specific build to pick: old and new material, entity and particle names both work in your configs.
  • Java — 17 on 1.20.1 – 1.20.4, 21 on 1.20.5 – 1.21.x, 25 on 26.x. Whatever your server version already requires.
  • Storage — SQLite out of the box, MySQL or Redis for networks, or MySQL behind a Redis cache.
  • NPC plugins — Citizens, FancyNpcs or ModeledNPCS. Any one of them is enough, and NPCs are optional.
  • Optional hooks — Vault (money perks), PlaceholderAPI, LuckPerms, WorldGuard, WorldEdit, AuraSkills, EcoItems and MMOItems.
  • Note — Reputation comments use a sign editor on Paper 1.21.5 and newer. On older versions they are written in chat instead, and nothing else changes.
