What you can do

Set your server’s heart rules

  • Set, add, and remove hearts, eliminate players, and revive them through admin commands.
  • Configure total hearts, starting hearts, and hearts after an unban.
  • Choose worlds where death does not cost hearts, and worlds where death immediately eliminates a player.
  • Set permission-based heart loss and player-specific heart caps; for example, a group can have five additional hearts.
  • Customize heart-loss penalties for mobs and environmental deaths, or disable those penalties. Examples include losing two hearts to a Blaze or drowning, and three to a Ghast or fall damage.

Create restorative heart items

  • Define heart tiers, the number of hearts each grants, usage cooldowns, and random drop chances after a player kill. Configure them in the hearts section of items.yml.
  • Choose whether a player kill applies hearts directly or drops them as an item.

Trade hearts for temporary buffs

  • Create sacrificial items, shown as scrolls by default, that consume a chosen number of hearts and grant temporary potion effects.
  • Configure these items in the effecthearts section of items.yml.

Bring players back with revive beacons

  • Create beacon tiers with custom revive times, durability, cooldowns, particles, and holograms in the Beacons section of items.yml.
  • Define a custom command that lets players assign a beacon to a player of their choice.
  • Show the player being revived, time remaining, and durability in a live hologram.
  • Broadcast the location of placed beacons, or make a beacon silent.

Customize items and player tools

  • Create multiple tiers of beacons, hearts, and effect hearts. Configure names, lore, materials, custom skulls, models, flags, glow, and recipes. Recipes require Minecraft 1.18+.
  • Give players a personal lifesteal menu, separate from the admin menu, with commands such as check to view another player’s status and revive to bring a player back at the cost of hearts.
  • Set permission-based ban durations, including shorter durations for selected groups.

Control repeated-kill exploits

  • Prevent heart stealing or drops when both players share an IP address, or when the same player is killed again within a configured interval.

Resource pack

A free resource pack includes textures for all default items, including three heart textures and three scroll textures. Join Discord and verify as a buyer to access it. Install the pack to see custom textures in-game. It is supplied for Java clients on the version targeted by the pack; Bedrock and older versions require your own port. Recipe support starts at Minecraft 1.18.
